Faraway Wanderers - Chapter 62

A chapter setting things up with the return of Lord Seventh/Great Shaman.

Merry Christmas fellow fans of WoH/TYK/priest. Translating this has kept me sane in many ways, and sharing it with neat people is great!

And a merry Christmas to Emma P, who proofread this very quickly so I'm able to post it!

Note

1. They are eating xiaolongbao. The sheer number of Wikipedia articles on food items never ceases to amaze me.

2. Feeling that a situation is unfair is expressed as "feeling unbalanced in the heart" in Chinese. The author echoes the chapter's title here.

3. 南疆黑巫 could be alternatively translated as "practitioners of dark voodoo from Nanjiang".

4. 投鼠忌器 idiom translated literally.

Misc note on Lord Seventh's lecture. Not to spoil anything, but the author is clearly making Lord Seventh lay down foreshadowing/setting him up as a red-herring/third person in a love triangle here. His diatribe on equilibrium seems directly inspired by some of Sun Zi's work, but I can't recall anything with that exact theme in the Art of War. It may also be a personal reflection from the author. If you are better informed, please drop me a line!
