Wherein ZZS subtextually sells himself to WKX.
Thank you Emma P and Christina H for proofreading!
Notes
1. 桃花眼 A kinda generic designation for pretty eyes that features: 'wateriness', rosy skin around it, a slight upward curve at the corner whilst being fairly round in the middle. Close to "almond eyes".
2. 路塔 lit. "road pagoda".
3. 分久必合,合久必分. Idiom from Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Lord Seventh's explanation is humorous because there are deeper/more gibberish heavy takes involving yin/yang, duality ect.
4. 阿伈莱. Non-Han name transcribed in Mandarin.
5. 北渊 lit. "north pool". Same Beiyuan referred to by the Emperor in chp. 1.
6. Refers to "generation names". A single character is shared in the first names of all family members who are from the same generation. Either by keeping it as is + an additional character or by having it as a key in one of the characters from the name. i.e. Mo Huaikong and Mo Huaiyang share the character "Huai". In Dream of Red Chamber 贾政 and 贾赦 share the generation name 文 as a key.
7. Respectively:
关关雎鸠 from 关雎, Shijing
在水一方 from 蒹葭, Shijing
北方有佳人 from 李延年歌 by 李延年
君子好逑 from 关雎, Shijing.
Cao Weining keeping up with creative mixing and mashing.
Poor Cao Weining, I think seeing A-Xiang made him dumber (I mean this in a teasing way, not seriously) than he already was 😂
Thank you for the translation !!! I had read Qi Ye last month so seeing beiyuan and his bf and son again made me so happy :”)
"When Gu Xiang walked past him, Cao Weining felt as if a fragrant breeze had blown by, turning his brain into a mushy lump" I would argue he brain was already a mushy lump 😂. He's so pure. I don't want him to change but I fear for his safety.
I cannot with these two CLOWNS. Sell your body pffttt
