ZZS never flinches right away. Suspicious if you ask me. u_u
Also, note the differing norms of modesty. Though you could explain it away with this being a period piece. Perhaps a medieval damsel would blush too if two knights got all PDA in front of her.
Thank you Emma P for proofreading!
Notes
1. "表里不一”、“道貌岸然”、“满嘴仁义道德,一肚子男盗女娼" in the original. Respectively lit. "different inside and out", "dignified appearance", "virtue on the mouth, male thief and female prostitute in the belly".
2. The original exchange goes like: "A-Xu, are you going to eat vinegar?" "I'm going to eat you". "Eating vinegar" means being jealous. Jealousy is acidic for Chinese people.
3. 梁九霄 lit. "roofbeam nine firmament". Romantic sounding name. Is mentioned as Qin Jiuxiao in the first episode of the show.
4. 狗皮膏药 or "dogskin plaster" in the original. A type of medicine in TCM prescribed by quacks. Means a sham medicine that's sticky on top of being useless.
Truly, what kind of people is WKX seeing at night that leave savage scratches on the wrists and forearms? 👀 I've heard of scratches in the back, but not on the forearms
Zhang Chengling might be wondering if these guys have something to do with his family's death. Maybe he was so attached to Zhou Zishu because he knew he couldn't have anything to do with it. Thanks for the translation!
